Weeks 1-5: The Monomials Domain

This 5-week video series is designed specifically for Classical Conversations parents using the Monomials Domain level of The Math Map curriculum. This course equips you—the homeschool parent—to confidently guide your student through the first five weeks of math instruction with clarity, purpose, and joy. THIS IS NOT A COURSE DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS. The series begins with Week 1: Ex Nihilo, where we walk page-by-page through the entire 16-page booklet to orient you to the structure, charts, and classical framework of The Math Map. Starting in Week 2, we shift to a conceptual structure. Rather than moving through the booklet in chronological order, each of the 4 video in each week groups lessons by concept (Concept 1: pages 1, 5, 9, 13; Concept 2: pages 2, 6, 10, 14; etc.). This allows for a deeper dive into the ideas of notations, comparison, addition, and multiplication, building understanding over time rather than racing through the content. Each session models how to work through concepts alongside your student and encourages flexibility, not perfection—progress over performance. ⚠️ Please Note: This course is designed for families who already own the Monomials Domain level of The Math Map curriculum. The video content assumes you have access to the student materials and charts and you will be asked to acknowledge this when you purchase the course.
